The Lake District
If you're a lover of the great outdoors, the Lake District is somewhere you'll want to linger. This sweeping landscape of slate-capped fells, craggy hilltops and glittering lakes makes it one of the country's most popular beauty spots. Literary sights from Wordsworth's boyhood school to the lavish country estate of John Ruskin at Brantwood, and there are enough hilltop trails and hidden pubs to fill a lifetime of visits! The lakes, mountains and breath taking scenery make it the ideal setting for a romantic retreat and the many attractions, activities and events mean there really is something for everyone!
Cumbria is the home to some of the finest local produce in the country and we choose very carefully where we source the ingredients for our breakfasts and the toiletries we use in our bathrooms.
Check out our restaurant links on the out and about page of this website for information on some great places to eat, it’s often better to book ahead at weekends as the town can get very busy even in winter.
