Beech House is located at the southern edge of the Lake District, our accommodation is ideally situated to explore the beautiful Lake District National Park and surrounding area. We are only 8 miles from the M6 and less than a mile from Oxenholme intercity railway station. We have a small private car park at the rear of Beech House plus parking permits that allow guests to park outside the house for the duration of their stay. Please read ourĀ access statement.

DIRECTIONS FROM THE SOUTH

From the M6 or A65 - at the roundabout where the M6 (Junction 36) meets A65 from Skipton follow signs for Kendal (8 miles approx).

Follow signs for Kendal South & Town Centre. At the second set of traffic lights turn left (look out for antique fire place shop). Follow this road, Gillingate to the cross roads at the top, Beech House is facing the cross roads on the opposite right hand corner.


DIRECTIONS FROM THE NORTH

From the M6 turn off at Shap, junction 39. Turn right off the slip road & then left at the junction, on to A6, following signs for Kendal (approx 12 miles).

As you enter Kendal head towards the town centre, turn right at the mini roundabout passing in front of the County Hotel.

Go straight on at all the traffic lights and follow the road round a sharp right hand bend to join Windermere Rd. Follow the road up the hill, look out for signs for the Golf Course on left. Turn left onto Queens Rd opposite a corner shop.

Follow along this road over many speed bumps to the crossroads at the end where the road has become High Tenterfell.

As you sit at the crossroads Beech House is on your left and our car park is just behind you.

ABOUT KENDAL

Situated to the South of the Lake District, six miles from junction 36 of theĀ M6 motorway, and only a few miles from the sea, Kendal is especially well placed to cater for everyone's holiday needs.

The town boasts a population of some 28000 (2001) is home to a fine selection of shopping arcades, can boast two castles, two museums, a host of historical buildings and bridges, fine restaurants, a multitude of public houses, excellent local schools, low crime rates, quality hotels and views that would please the most demanding photographer.[Read more...]
